Bye Bye Wes: Episode Recap

So the "JEK Alliance" (Johnny, Evan, and Kenny) were successful in picking off the thorn that was in all of their sides. Wes was sent him this week after competing in the Ruins for the third time. Little, scrawny, mountain boy Cohutta sent him home. How said is that?

For a little episode recap, the Challengers has no choice but to nominate Brad, Dunbar, and Cohutta considering they are the last 3 men on the team. Sarah sat this one out and let the three other women on the team (Kim, Casey, and Kelly Anne) be nominated. The Champions nominated Johanna, Ibis, and Veronica, hoping that they could pin Veronica against KellyAnne. The guys nominated were Johnny, Wes, and Kenny.

The Champions crushed the Challengers in the challenge. Then in the deliberation, Wes nominated himself to go against Cohutta and there was no confusion there particularly because Wes gets a jealous feeling when thinking about Cohutta. When it came to the women, Johanna says her and Ibis aren't voting for each other. SHADY!!!! Veronica starts knocking down Ibis' abilities in the challenge and they end up tying the vote with Veronica vs. KellyAnne with 3 votes and Veronica vs. Kim. So TJ brings in the whole Champion team to vote on which girls will face off in the ruins.

No teammate can discuss it, they must give there answer immediately. Several Champions such as Syrus and Derrick start voting Ibis vs. Kim. Even Johnny, who was apart of the Veronica vs. KellyAnne deal, votes Ibis. But Evan stays loyal and votes for Veronica to go in. It ends up being 5 and 5 with Veronica or Ibis going in, and Veronica got to cast the last vote. We all know what that is. Ibis is pissed at everyone, especially Derrick who was on her season and Johnny who promised Veronica would go in.

In the Ruins, Cohutta and Wes get a game that is NOT physical. Wes ends up giving up and Cohutta wins. Wes gives some "I care about you (Champions)" speech but I didn't fall for it. Then Kim goes against Ibis and Cohutta is coaching Kim through the whole thing and Kim ends up winning. So Ibis is added to the list of people that got screwed by JEK.

Katie Says No More Challenges...?

Yeah, let's be honest, a RW/RR's alumni has came out and said they are done with challenges before. This is the same situation with Katie on The Ruins. Before her ruins, she legitimately said that she is done with challenges after this one whether she wins or not. Obviously she didn't win, but is she really done?

Many have said that they are done with challenges before and have returned. I believe Mr. Mark Long is one of them. Even Evelyn, who is on The Ruins and speculated to be on the next challenge, said during the Island reunion that she was going to take a long break and ended up coming on this challenge a year later. One who many fans our anticipating a return from is Coral who quit the Gauntlet III.

But in Katie's case, would it be good if she quit? I mean, she, along with 3 other Ruins castmates (Derrick, Tonya, & Veronica), holds the record for most challenges with a whopping 8 appearances. Are we as viewers starting to get tired of certain cast members? Thoughts and Comments would be helpful.

Katie Doyle Explains Her Hate For Sarah

So this week on the Ruins, some crazy shit went down! Katie randomly flipped out on Sarah when she found a plunger in her bed, and it was never really explained why Katie didn't like her. I mean, in the end, Sarah got the last word and sent Katie home. But Katie did an interview with RealityWanted and had this to say about Sarah:

Katie: Sarah never left the Champion team’s room. I’d wake up and she’d be sitting there. I’d go to bed and she’d be sitting there. She was always trying to get in with Kenny and Evan. People started calling her Super Fan because she only wanted to hang out with older cast members. Somebody told me that she referred to me is crazy, which is fine. But if you call me crazy, I’m not going to like you. I was pissed off about the plunger, they put baby powder on my bed, which they didn’t show, and then Evan told me it was the blue team. I associate Sarah with the blue team and she was laughing and she already annoys the crap out of me. I definitely overreacted. I apologized to her the next day. If I’m not a jerk, then I don’t get any air time. They didn’t show my apology. I shouldn’t have called her fat. I knew that calling her fat would get a reaction and that was my motive at the time. I don’t dislike her. I just think that when you’re that new, don’t be that ballsy.

The Mess of a team called The Challengers

So in this Challenge Daily that's only 23 seconds long, a good point is made. Currently on the challenger's team, there is 8 people total, 4 guys and 4 girls. KellyAnne states that if one more guy or girl goes home, the rest of that gender will have to nominate themselves by default. Meaning they will be susceptible to go into the ruins every time. Wouldn't that suck to have to compete in a challenge every time and then on top of that go into the ruins each time. Talk about deserving to win. The challengers just need to step it up.

True Hollywood Story: Brianna Taylor

I don't know if you've caught onto it, but I have a soft spot, a really soft spot for the Challengers. More specifically the soft spoken ones. Speaking of challengers, the latest one to leave The Ruins was Real World: Hollywood's Brianna Taylor.

Brianna was known for being the loud, spunky, and tough chick from Philly who definitely had a sensitive side to her. She fought with a couple roommates like
Kimberly but also got really close to roommate Greg. But overall she had come to Hollywood to pursue her singing career. She did very well scoring a gig with Alex Band and getting to perform in front of an audience.

Well Brianna has released her second album, "Fireworks at the Fairground," Oct. 13 on Chamberlain Records. The new
CD "Fireworks at the Fairground" is now available on iTUNES.

The Ruins- The Road to Ruins: Episode 3

So today's episode starts off with Evan loathing Veronica on a boat. And yeah, and then Tonya acting like a psycho on the boat by climbing the mass. Back home Veronica starts telling Evan she's nervous because she hasn't done a challenge in a while but Evan says he'll protect her. Then in another room Adam and Brad start saying the need to go into The Ruins and start taking out Champions.

So for, what is it, the third episode in a row, Wes has a meeting with his team telling them he wants to work things out, he wants to change, and, oh yeah, he's going to donate his winnings to... charity?!

So challenge time comes and the Challengers immediately agree Danny, Adam and Brad will go in after they volunteer. Brianna volunteers herself but Casey is a little adamant when they say her name. But after a vote, she is voted in along with Kim who volunteered.

The Champions choose Kenny, Evan, and Syrus. They have a problem with the women too when Ibis and Susie volunteer but Veronica and Tonya resist. Johnny says that Veronica is shady and I quote,
"Instead of going to work to get the raise, she says why not just f*** the boss and I'll get it that way." (LOL)
But the majority ends up voting Veronica in anyways.

The challenge is called Repo Race. The object is to get all of your teammates over a what looks to me like an extremely easy obstacle course with out touching the sand. What you do is line up on the ground so your teams runner (Champs- Derrick, Challengers- Cohutta) can walk on you and then the back of the bridge comes to the front (god, why isn't Big Easy on this challenge?).

So they start and Cohutta touches the sand sending the challengers back to the start and giving the Champions a lead. Throughout the rest of the race the teams are tied. Towards the end, the runners had to grab a bag and this caused confusion with Derrick. Then as he was running he hit the sand and had to go back. The Challengers were very calm at this point and Cohutta ended up running past the finish line first. You know what that means, don't you? I know, THE APOCALYPSE! Ok, not that, but yes, the Challengers won!

So the Challengers go back home with their six nominees and deliberate as to who should go in. They decide to do secret ballots (dumb idea IMO). Brianna ends up getting 5 votes and Adam gets 3. And they have no objection (Why the hell would you not vote Casey?). Adam easily picks Syrus to go against because he's friends with Kenny and Evan. Brianna picks Susie and Kim questions her and she still wants it.

So in the ruins, they are playing a game called "Burnout" where they stand on a platform holding a wheel, trying to maneuver shooting water to put out their opponents fire. The girls go first, and Bri is doing a hell of a job. That is until Susie sadly wins. And Brianna goes home.

Then comes Syrus and Adam. Adam starts off really good and Syrus is getting nervous. Adam gave it all he could but Syrus ended up winning sending Adam home and taking his money. Now there is only 8 challengers left :(

The Real World Castmembers NOT STD FREE

So...yeah. I'll just come out straight and let you know the deal. Apparently there was some sort of date night on The Real World: DC and you could bid on one of the contestants. Well, when someone one the auction, Real World production made them sign a waiver. And this is what the waiver stated:

IF I CHOOSE TO ENGAGE IN CONSENSUAL SEXUAL BEHAVIOR OR INTIMATE CONTACT WITH ANY SUCH PERSON I DO SO VOLUNTARILY AND KNOWINGLY AND I ASSUME THE RISK THAT BY ENGAGING IN SUCH ACTIVITY I MAY CONTRACT CERTAIN SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES. PRODUCER MAKES NO WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION THAT ANY SUCH PERSON IS STD FREE.

I AM COGNIZANT OF THE RISKS AND I SHALL BEHAVE IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH GOOD JUDGMENT AND CAUTION AS I WOULD IN MY DAILY LIFE. I EXPLICITLY INCLUDE ANY INJURIES OR HARM THAT I MAY SUFFER AS A RESULT OF ENGAGING IN SUCH CONDUCT WITHIN THE MATTERS FOR WHICH I AM RELEASING YOU FROM ANY CLAIMS OR LIABILITIES.

Yikes, that is kind of scary.

Landon Lueck returning to the Challenge Series?

With the Fresh Meat challenge currently filming/wrapping up filming, vevmo.com is reporting a lot of the cast (as spoilers). And one of those rumored cast members is Landon from The Real World: Philadelphia in 2005.

The athlete who wrestled and played tennis in high school. He went on to appear on The Gauntlet II and The Inferno II and ended up winning both. Just recently he appeared on The Duel II where he came in 4th place. Landon continues, even now, to show he is an extremely strong competitor having both physical strength and allies that will look out for him.

So if Landon is on Fresh Meat 2, hopefully he gets a strong partner like Brittini from The Duel II because he is the prime example of who should win on a challenge show.

The Ruins- The Booby Trap: Episode 2

So the 2nd episode starts out still lingering over the idea of how to cope with Wes still on their team. Ironically, Johanna says that if Wes doesn't agree to work with the team, then she has no problem putting him in The Ruins every-time. How is that for an ex-fiancee?

The shady antics of the Champion team continues when they decide if they can't get rid of Wes, they'll go for the next best thing: KellyAnne. They come up with the idea of putting Ev up against KellyAnne (if you don't remember, they are BFF's). The Challenger girls, Sarah and Casey, agree with this also.

So they next morning they need to nominate the six people from each team to possibly go into The Ruins. On the challengers team, Shauvon and Casey volunteer to go in, while KellyAnne is voted in. Cohutta, Nick, and Danny. The Champions come to a compromise with Wes about voting and they nominate Derrick, Wes, and Johhny. For the girls they nominate Katie (WTF), Susie (blondie), and Ev (little does she know...).

So they challenge is simple. The will be tied on a launching pad and will be launched around a fench (over the water). The must land on the landing pad successfully. If someone falls off, they must restart and the winning team must have the whole team on the landing pad.

So the challengers start off at a very good pace. That is until Casey goes. I never understood this girl and I still don't. She ends up running into something else and having to restart. And then Shauvon goes and she is even worse. As soon as she jumps to swing, she falls in the water with the whole Champion's team laughing. So she tries again and falls...again. And this time she comes out of the water and is taken to a hospital because of her implant problems.

The Champions start with Johnny and continue to do very well. They end up winning the challenge (SHOCKER). In deliberation, Wes is given the choice of who he wants to go against and he says Nick. Ev says she wants to go in against Casey but Johnny says the reason they won 2 challenges is because of Casey and Shauvon (*hint hint*). They straight up say they are gonna back the decision for Ev to go against KellyAnne and she looks like she's about to cry. So Evelyn and Wes, who doesn't wanna lose his girl, start making a fuss at Johnny (dang, I was starting to like Johnny).

Oh yeah, crazy Shauvon returns to the house to let them know she's going home.

In the The Ruins, the four competitors will be playing a game called Shadowfigher where they are tied to the other person and they have to pull their opponent off a platform. Wes ends up knocking Nick off twice. On the third try, Wes has Nick on the ground most of the time and ends up elimination him. KellyAnne and Evelyn go up and Ev gets 2 points before letting KellyAnne win. KellyAnne wins and not only stays, but receives Evelyn's $2800.

Back at the house, JoJo says the funniest thing. She says if Wes ends up throwing the final mission, she's gonna sell his house that's under her name.

The Real World/The Ruin's Syrus Syrus Yarbrough Casting in Detroit

So yesterday (10/3) night, The Real World: Boston's Syrus Yarbrough came to the MotorCity (Southgate, MI) to host a casting party at Malarkey's Irish Pub. I find it funny because I drove by this restaurant yesterday afternoon and say his name on the marquee and had to do a double take. I didn't go but I'm sure it went really well because Malarkey's is always bumpin'.

I'm glad Syrus came to Michigan. I hope he liked it and I hope more Real World/Road Rules stars stop by here, especially those on The Ruins. I also know Ayiiia Elizarraras (RW: Cancun) was in Detroit recently.

The Party was sponsored by a casting company called limeliteinc.com

Nick Brown, Sarah Rice, Brad Fiorenza

What does Nick Brown (RW: Hollywood), Sarah Rice (RW: Brooklyn), and Brad Fiorenza (RW: San Diego) all have in common? Well for starters, they were all on The Real World and they all are currently a "challenger" on The Ruins challenge. But I wanted to post an article about all three, because they all seem to have a similar personality. All three seem to be the most laid back, chill people on the challenge and are very likable.

Nick Brown- Nick joined the Real World: Hollywood more than halfway through the show but was sure to leave his mark. He quickly befriended his roommates and ended leaving the show making friends. He then appeared on The Duel II but was targeted as a rookie and was eliminated in the first episode. But now Nick is back on The Ruins and is ready to compete. We know he has the potential to go far and we hope he does.

Brad Fiorenza- Brad appeared on the Real World: San Diego back in 2004. He's been on six challenges since then and has been unsuccessful all six times (was runner-up on both Duels). The Ruins is his seventh challenge and one of the only veterans on the Challenger Team. Brad, unlike most of the Champion team who are veterans, usually remains humble and doesn't get a big head. Will Brad's lucky number be 7? Let's hope so!

Sarah Rice- Sarah is one of the newest contenders to the Real World/Road Rules challenges. She appeared on The Real World: Brooklyn which aired from January to April this year. Sarah was a very open minded cast member on her season and tried to be understanding to all of her roommates. Although she did tiff with someone on her season, I'm sure she will play the back burner 100% on the Ruins. As long as she isn't taken out because of her rookie status, I think she can go far.

The Ruins- Wes Side Story: Episode 1

So here we are with another Real World/Road Rules Challenge. It started off just like all of them, with the cast introducing themselves and TJ introducing the cast and the game. TJ says that over the 9 challenges, there is $180,000 up for grabs. But teams won't bank money in a "team back account" but an individual account. And if you don't make it to the end, you get no money. And if you want more money in your bank account, put yourself in The Ruins against someone with a lot of money. If you beat them, you send them home and take all of their money.

The Rules: Each challenge, 3 girls and 3 guys from each team will nominate themselves to go in the Ruins. Once a team wins, they win $20,000 and the six nominees from each team decide who goes in The Ruins.

So they cast goes into the house and does what ever cast does, get crazy and party. And then Wes sits with Johanna to talk until Evan comes in and says he's pissed at Wes for lying to him about being on the challenge. Then Wes confronts Kenny and Kenny straight up disses Wes by saying "You are wearing your mother's shirt." So Wes walks away to play by the pool with his skanky girlfriend KellyAnne who says they are both hated by everyone.

So the next day the teams decided separately how to nominate the 6 people. The champions already have turmoil on there team while the challengers, such as Sarah (RW: 21), is calm and nominates herself. And then we cut back to Wes who tells KellyAnne he is going to throw challenges if his team tries to put him in the Ruins everytime.

The Challenge: So the six nominees are as follows:
Champions team-
  • Wes
  • Kenny
  • Darrell
  • Johanna
  • Tonya
  • Susie
Challengers team-
  • Chet
  • Nick
  • Cohutta
  • Shauvon
  • Diem
  • Sarah
The challenge has both teams hanging from a rope. The player at the bottom of the rope has to climb it, passing the other teammates, and then get to the top to ring a gong. So the challengers start off well, with Diem saying people think she's the leader. Shauvon has some trouble and I did get a good laugh seeing her arms jiggling. She ends up falling in the water with Chet saying "You need all six of our dudes to lift Shauvon".

The champions start off with Wes at the very bottom pulling a "Buckwild" and shaking the rope to knock his teammates off. Let me tell you, I hated Buckwild antics back on I Love Money 2, and I still hate them. But Wes and Ibis are DQ'd and the champions end up getting a better time and they win the challenge. So the 6 nominees from the Champions get to decide who amonst them is going into the Ruins and who on the challengers of their 6 will go against them.

The Meeting: Johanna, Wes, Kenny, Tonya, Susie, Darrell and Kenny sit and discuss who is going in the Ruins. Tonya volunteers herself to go against Diem. Wes volunteers himself but Susie quickly says he was going in anyways (I LOVE HER). Wes says he wants Chet and Susie for the second time says to go with Chet regardless of what Wes says (SHE'S 2 FOR 2).

So they start the Ruins which is Shoots and Ladders. Chet and Wes duke it out and it's about even throughout the whole thing until Wes ends it by hitting the gong first and sending Chet home. I'll let you guess how the Champions felt about that. Diem and Tonya start with Diem acting frantic and Tonya being cool as ice. Tonya ends up winning that one and Diem is sent home.
